A rotation-speed-regulating circuit (3) for a motor drive having a DC motor (1) and a phase comparison circuit (2) can be switched over by means of a changeover switch (12) upstream of the comparison input (7) of the phase comparison circuit into a torque control circuit (15). In addition to the phase comparison circuit (2), said torque control circuit (15) contains a possibly adjustable phase-shifter circuit (17) whose input (18) is connected to the signal output (9) of the reference pulse generator (8) for the phase comparison circuit. In consequence, any desired drive torque can be set, or a desired drive torque behaviour can be controlled.
