PURPOSE:To prevent a tight corner phenomenon from occurring, by making a friction clutch slippable at a place where a friction factor between a road surface and wheels is high, and constituting the friction clutch to be disconnectible, in case of a driving device, bearing the above caption, capable of driving both two and four wheels. CONSTITUTION:A friction clutch 12 is constituted so as to be pressed and connected with only the fixed resilience of a tension spring 16, and the transmission torque capacity should be set as far as necessary and sufficient to transmit the maximum revolving speed, fed to a power distributing shaft 10, to a power takeoff shaft 8 when a friction factor between a road surface and wheels. With this, the friction clutch 12 functions as a torque limiter. And, a friction clutch select switch (unillustrated herein) is operated, making an air chamber C of an actuator 24 into a vacuum, and this actuator 24 is extended against tensile force of a spring 16, thus the friction clutch 12 is made into disengagedness. With this constitution, a tight corner phenomenon is prevented from occurring and, what is more, an engine brake is made usable.
