PURPOSE:To exclude effectively return light to a light source section by providing a polarized light beam splitter and a Faraday rotator rotating the linearly polarized light by 45 deg. on an optical path between a recording medium and the light source section obtaining reproduced light of the linearly polarized light. CONSTITUTION:The reproduced linearly polarized light from the light source section is irradiated on an optomagnetic recording medium 16 through the 1st polarized beam splitter 22 - Faraday rotator 23 - 2nd polarized beam splitter 24. Since the return light to the light source section 1 by the reflected light from the medium 16 passes again through the Faraday rotator 23, the return light is subjected to twice rotations on the reciprocation path of the Faraday rotator 23 giving a rotation of 45 deg., that is, 90 deg. rotation as a whole, and enters the 1st polarized beam splitter 22 as an S polarized wave, which cannot be transmitted and the transmission to the light source section 1 is blocked. |
