PURPOSE:To absorb and reduce a surge voltage while suppressing the excess of a rush current when a power source is turned ON by providing a surge voltage absorber between a capacitor for forming a power source and a rectifier. CONSTITUTION:The output voltage of an AC power source 1 is rectified by a rectifier 2 and applied to a converter 3. An auxiliary power source 6 having the first capacitor 4 and a diode 5 is provided at the input side of the converter 3, and a power source 7 charges the capacitor 4 during nondischarging period of the capacitor 4. A surge voltage absorber 10 having the second capacitor 9 of smaller capacity than the capacitor 4 and a diode 8 is provided between one electrode of the first capacitor 4 and one output terminal of the rectifier 2, and discharging means 11 of the capacitor 9 is further provided. A surge voltage is absorbed through the passage of the first and second capacitors 4, 9. |
