PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by forming a switching means for emitting a light emitting element only in a period when a microcomputer fetching detecting signals from photodetecting elements through a data selecting means sets a data selecting means to operatable state. CONSTITUTION:The detecting circuit is provided with the switching means for emitting the light emitting element only in the period when the microcomputer 5 inputting detecting signals from photodetecting elements through the data selecting means sets makes the data selecting means to operatable state. In this case, the microcomputer 5 turns a chip selecting signal 100 to the low level and makes a current flow into the light emitting element 1 only in the input timing of reader tape detecting signals outputted from phototransistors 2, 8 to emit the element 1, so that the power consumption can be reduced to about 1/2-1/3 as compared with conventional cases. |
