PURPOSE:To obtain the titled novel polymer useful as a rubber-like sealant, coating material, ultraviolet-curing coating compound, by dehydrating a specific polyolefin polyol with a mercaptoalkanoic acid and a dicarboxylic acid. CONSTITUTION:A polyolefin polyol shown by the formula I (m is 50-400) is dehydrated with (B) a mercaptoalkanoic acid shown by the formula II (R<1> is 1-6C bifunctional hydrocarbon) and a dicarboxylic acid shown by the formula III (R<2> is 1-12C bifunctional hydrocarbon or <=4C bifunctional organic group containing thio ether group) to give the aimed polymer shown by the formula IV (l is 0-20; k is 0 or 1) to give the aimed polymer.
