A mixture control for internal combustion engines with a lambda probe and with a comparator circuit for comparing the lambda signal with a reference value and for emitting a control signal for the fuel feed. The technical problem is to create a mixture control which enables the consumption and/or exhaust emissions to be optimised over the entire performance range of an internal combustion engine, taking the performance requirements into account.
