PURPOSE:To prevent a bearing hole from being deformed owing to clamping of a head bolt and other reasons and also to eliminate stagnation of air in a cooling water path by suspending a rib into the cooling water path, and forming a throughhole in the rib at the uppermost position thereof. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder head 1 is adapted to have a cooling water path 4 provided between the upper and lower decks 2 and 3 and a bearing hole 9 of a cam shaft above the upper deck 2. Thereupon, a rib 11 is suspended from the lower surface of the upper deck 2 so as to communicate bosses 10 of bolt insertion holes 7 located at positions corresponding to both sides of adjoining cylinders therebetween in a water jacket 4. A throughhole 12 is provided at the uppermost position of each rib 11, which penetrates said each rib 11 in the direction of a cylinder train. hereby, each bearing hole 9 can be prevented from being deformed owing to clamping of a head bolt E, while air mixed into the cooling water can be prevented from stagnating in the water jacket 4 by discharging said air from the throughhole 12. |
