PURPOSE:To obtain urokinase from urine, etc., in high purity in high yield, by passing a crude urokinase solution through an ultrafiltration module of bleed type made of non-cellulosic high polymer membrane to eliminate given substances. CONSTITUTION:Low-molecular substances and/or high-molecular substances are eliminated from urokinase by the use of an ultrafiltration module of bleed type made of a non-cellulosic high polymer membrane. An ultrafilter having 1X10<4>-4X10<4> dalton is used for molecular weight fraction of low-molecular weight side, and an ultrafilter having 1X10<5>-1X10<6> dalton is used for molecular weight fraction of high-molecular weight side. The eluate of urokinase is desalted, concentrated, and purified highly to give urokinase useful as a drug.
