PURPOSE:To reduce the difference in the sensitivity of vertical deflection in the boundary of each vertical division so as to correct the positional disturbance of the beam near the boundary by installing second back electrodes at the right and the left sides of the back electrode slightly obliquely to it. CONSTITUTION:An image display device is constituted from a back electrode 1, linear cathodes 2, vertically focusing electrodes 3 and 3', a vertically deflecting electrode 4, a beam-current-controlling electrode 5, horizontally focusing and deflecting electrodes 6 and 7, an accelerating electrode 8 and a screen 9. Second back electrodes 1' are installed at the right and left sides of the back electrode 1 slightly obliquely to it. Therefore, the potential gradient of the linear cathodes 2 becomes the denseat in their ends and it is possible to increase the sensitivity of vertical deflection in the ends of the linear cathodes 2. Consequently, the positional disturbance of the vertical beam near the boundaries of the end vertical divisions of the image screen can be corrected, thereby obtaining high- quality images. |
