The invention relates to an oil container 1 having an oil-collecting pan 2 for changing the engine oil in motor vehicles. The oil-collecting pan 2 is intended to be part of the oil container 1 filled with engine oil and at the same time form an essential aid for removing the old oil in a correct and environmentally friendly manner. For this purpose, the invention provides that the interior dimensions of the pan 2 in terms of length l, breadth b and depth t are matched to the exterior dimensions of the container 1 in terms of height H, breadth B and thickness D and that the pan 2 encloses the container 1 on five sides such that it can be detached, in that the pan 2 grasps by means of tabs 4, 5, attached on at least two opposing side walls 20, 21, behind the side wall 15 of the oil container 1 which is not enclosed by the pan 2 (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
