PURPOSE:To ensure that the process of extinction of a bubble is hardly affected by variations in environments and enhance stability in continuous ink ejection, by splitting a heat-generating part of an electro-thermal converter into a plurality of parts. CONSTITUTION:With an electrical signal applied, the heat-generating part 3 generates heat, whereby an ink in the vicinity of the part 3 is heated. Heat is transmitted extremely speedily, the ink is rapidly boiled to generate a bubble, wherein a desired ink droplet is ejected through an orifice 2 opposed to the part 3. In this case, four small bubbles are generated. As energy is consumed and flows out, the saturated vapor pressure of the bubbles thus formed is reduced, and when the pressure is overcomed by a pressure tending to collapsing the bubbles, the bubbles starts to shrink, and finally disappears, resulting in a condition where the next ejection of the ink can be performed. Since a higher bubble-collapsing pressure is exerted on smaller bubbles, the plurality of small bubbles in this case are distinguished securely and rapidly. |
