PURPOSE:To obtain agar suitable for gelidium jelly or honey, having elasticity, good flavor and taste, by adding active carbon to an agar solution to adsorb impurities, filtering the solution. CONSTITUTION:An agar-agar (Gelidium smansii) is blended with red algae such as Camphlaephora hypnaeoides J. Agardh, TRIAN, Ceraminum kondo Yendo, sewing thread. etc., the blend and water are added to a dissolving tank, stirred under heating at 110 deg.C, diatomaceous earth as a filtering medium and active carbon as an adsorbent are added to the solution, the solution is allowed to stand for a while, then, the temperature is lowered to 50-60 deg.C, and the solution is filtered repeatedly for several times, to give the aimed purified agar. |
