A vacuum gripping assembly for lifting filled sacks, has a suction cup (1) with a downwardly facing suction opening (5) and within which there is a soft, resilient annular sealing member (17). A sealing annulus (12), having sealing surfaces (13) which extend radially inwardly in the suction cup, is mounted on a metal backing sleeve (22) located on the inner surface of an annular part (11) of member (17). The sealing member (17) together with the annulus (12) is removably located in the suction cup (1) and retained by tongues (21). An adjustable plate (6) is located within the cup below a suction aperture (8). <IMAGE> |
