PURPOSE:To prevent discharge by cutting both sides of a substrate outside terminal positions and removing a by-pass part, and separating a short-circuit pattern between optical switches from terminals of optical switches respectively after a process which causes a discharge phenomenon. CONSTITUTION:Terminals of waveguide type optical switches SW1 and SW2 which have electrode terminals 4a and 4b led out to the opposite sides of the substrate are connected mutually through an interswitch short-circuit patterns 7, which are connected through by-pass pattern parts 7a and 7b outside terminal positions of both sides of the substrate 1. Then, both sides of the substrates are cut from cutting lines 6a and 7b outside the terminal positions after a process which causes a rise in temperature such as the polishing of incidence surfaces of waveguides. Consequently, by-pass parts of interswitch short-circuit patterns are cut in the same process with the cutting of short-circuit patterns 5a and 5b between terminals 4a and 4b in the waveguide type optical switches SW1 and SW2, and discharge between adjacent waveguide type optical switches is prevented without increasing the number of processes specially, thereby eliminating the problem of the breakage of an electrode completely. |
