The process comprises forming of a tubular fabric on a circular machine, and then of long narrow strips which are then tensioned to coil them. The coiled strips are then wound, the strip width being 0.5-3 cm. The tubular fabric is cut e.g. slightly helicoidal to give a continuous strip.
