PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent metallic media and a workpiece from being blackened and further improve the finished surface roughness and glossiness of the workpiece by using mixed media, formed by mixing metallic media and resin media, as media used for a dry barrel polishing device. SOLUTION: A fixed barrel 1 and a rotary plate 2 constitute a polishing barrel, and a mass 3 (a mixture of a workpiece and media) is charged in this polishing barrel. A sliding contact clearance 4 is formed at a boundary between the fixed barrel 1 and the rotary plate 2, and dust of the workpiece and media generated by the mass 3 toroidally flowing in association with the rotation of the rotary plate 2 is sucked through the clearance 4 and eliminated by a dust collector 5. In this case mixed media are used as the media, the resin media is used with at least dust adsorbability, softness and wear resistance that and steel rolled balls or the like are used as the metallic media. |
