<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal display device, whose display quality is good even at a low temperature, with a good productivity by using spacers consisting of a benzoguanamine resin and using desirably spacers larger than a predeterminate gap between substrates. CONSTITUTION:Spacers 5 are scattered between substrates 1 and consist of a benzoguanamine resin stuck by an oriented film 3, and a liquid crystal 6 is held between substrates 1. Beads of the benzoguanamine resin obtained by condensation polymerization of a benzoguanamine and a formaldehyde are classified by particle size to obtain beads having 8mum particle size as spacers 5. These spacers 5 are mixed dispersedly in an orienting agent, and this orienting agent is applied onto a glass base 4 provided with an electrode 2 and is sintered to form the oriented film 3. Since diameters of spacers are slightly reduced during formation of the oriented film, particles having a diameter (d) which satisfies relations 1.0t<d<=1.2t [(t) is the final objective gap between substrates] are mixed into the orienting agent.</p> |
