PURPOSE:Crushed coal is kneaded with a part of the binder, sluried with water with stirring, and the resultant granular coal is kneaded together with the rest of the binder, formed and dry-distilled to increase the deashing rate and recovery yield of the starting coal. CONSTITUTION:Starting coal for formed coke such as low-coking or no-coking coal is crushed into particles of usually 1-5mm. sizes and combined with a part of a binder used in briquet formation and made into a slurry of 30-40wt% concentration in water. Then, the slurry is stirred to allow the powdery coal coated with the binder spread to form granules. Further, the rest of the binder is added to the granules and they are kneaded, formed and dry-distilled. EFFECT:Granulation speed is largely increased and waste use of binder can be avoided.
