Appts. for gasification of coal by blowing in coal, O2 and pref. Fe carriers and slag forming agents below the surface of molten iron, comprises a horizontal reactor and a separate slag separator both being operated at above atmospheric pressure. Carbon, oxygen and a slag former are added via jets to the melt. The reactor can be moved to the slag separator and the slag run off to the collection chamber. The melt can be tapped off. The coal is blown in in excess w.r.t. the oxygen contained in the smelt as oxides. |
