PURPOSE:To perform safe, short-time fixation without any danger of an electric shock by arranging an induction heating plate on the internal wall of a housing, and supplying a high-frequency current to a coil and performing induction heating. CONSTITUTION:The fixing device consists of the coil 12 supplied with the high- frequency current from an AC power source 10, the housing 13 formed of an insulating adiabatic plate, an induction heating plate 14, and an insulating cover body which covers the coil 12. When the high-frequency current is supplied, the high-frequency current flows through the coil 12 to generate lines of magnetic force forming a loop, and some of them penetrate the induction heating plate 14. Then, an eddy current is induced in the induction heating plate 14, which generates heat efficiently because of its large resistance since the induction heating plate 14 is made of a thin iron plate, etc. A reflecting plate 16 reflects heat rays generated by the induction heating plate 14, so the temperature of the fixing device is raised efficiently. Consequently, even if an operator's hand enters the fixing device, there is no danger of an electric shock and safety is obtained, and the internal temperature attains to fixation temperature in a short time. |
