PURPOSE:To reduce the shock on acceleration by shifting to acceleration operation by opening-operating a throttle valve after the completion of the cylinder increasing operation, when acceleration is performed during the constant-speed operation in reduced-cylinder operation. CONSTITUTION:When an accelerator 16 is stepped-in, during the constant-speed operation in reduced-cylinder operation of a cylinder-quantity controlled engine 1, the acceleration demand is judged by an acceleration-demand judging means which takes-in the signal of an accelerator opening-degree detecting apparatus 25, and performs the cylinder increasing operation by sending a signal into a cylinder selector 40. After the cylinder increasing operation is completed, an engine is accelerated by opening-operating a throttle valve 14 through an actuator 21. |
