PURPOSE:To prevent a paper wastage and/or a failure in paper replacement by commanding suspension of printing based on the outputs from a comparison indicator through clearing counting value of pulse from a guide roll with an pulse signal from a web roll. CONSTITUTION:A protrusion 21 of a disk 2a which is fixed on a movable shaft of a web core is detected by a proximity switch 22 and the rotation of a guide roll 5 is measured by a photosensor 7. A counter 32 clears a pulse signal from the photosensor 7 by a pulse from the proximity switch 22 and the output from the counter 32 is put into a resister 31. A suitable value of counting corresponding to the diameter of the web roll after the paper is exhausted is set and memorized in a resister 34 and the output from the resister is put into a comparison indicator 33. When a counting value sent from the resister 31 reaches to the equal value sent from the resister 34, a suspension signal is outputted from the comparison indicator 33 to the printer 11. |
