<p>PURPOSE:To improve the conveyance of a sheet and to reduce the occurrence of a jam by varying flow rates of two vapor flow passages provided for both surfaces of a recording member (sheet) at the discharge side of a fixing device independently of each other. CONSTITUTION:The vapor flow passages 167 and 168 are provided across a sheet conveyance path so as to supply vapor from the fixing device to the top and reverse surfaces of a sheet right after discharge. Then, cross fans 170 and 171 are provided to control the vapor flow rates of the flow passages 167 and 168 independently. A light source 181 and a photodiode 182 are provided at the entry side of the fixing device for the sheet 9 and the sheet is detected through an amplifier 183 and a comparator 184 to control a control circuit 185 and drivers 186 and 187 on the basis of the output V0 of the comparator 184. The driving timing and wind capacity of those fans 170 and 171 are adjusted to control the curling direction of the sheet 9. Vapor is supplied to the front end of the sheet 9 from above and to the rear end from below to form a curl shape suitable for the 2nd transfer and separation.</p> |
