PURPOSE:To improve abrasion resistance easily, by forming an expandable metallic molded body with an inorganic fiber mixed in a ringlike expandable metal, while solidly molding this molded body together with a light alloy piston by means of casting, and exposing the inorganic fiber on a surface of the molded body. CONSTITUTION:A ringlike expandable metal 1 consisting of a porous body using nickel system plated bodies 2a-2c is impregnated in water 4 mixing inorganic fibers 3a-3c, then granules of inorganic fibers 6a-6c and another inorganic fiber are stuck on the expandable metal 1 and solidified thereon, thus an expandable metallic molded body 5 is formed. And, this expandable metallic molded body 5 is held on a mold, then a light alloy matric 10a is cast in, and a piston 10 is founded. At this time these inorganic fibers 6a-6c are exposed on a piston side surface 10c. With this constitution, such a piston as being excellent in abrasion resistance can be easily formed up. |
