PURPOSE:To perform highly accurate control of grinding amount by correcting the inclination angle corresponding with the parallelness between the grinding work face of magnetic head and the traverse shaft of tubular grinding machine thereby correcting the inclination angle corresponding with the difference of gaps of trucks at the opposite ends. CONSTITUTION:X-axis drive table 1 is driven to traverse a stylus reciprocally within entire width in longitudinal direction of the face 14a of magnetic head to be grinded. The stylus 16 is displaced only in perpendicular direction against traverse direction and when said face 14a is not in parallel with the traverse axis, said stylus 16 is displaced during measuring traverse to indicate the parallelness with the traverse axis thus to correct the parallelness. When it is worked with inclination angle theta between the grinding face 14a prior to working and the grinding face 18a of grinding wheel 18, angular correction is performed through rotary table 5 if there is a difference between the resistances RL', OR' of left and right resistors 32L, 32R thus to work the gap depth uniformly for every truck. |
