PURPOSE:To simply and completely remove the phosphor slightly stuck to the invalid screen section by washing a panel with the flow of a cleaning liquid while immersing it in the cleaning liquid upside down and recovering it at the same status. CONSTITUTION:A panel section 2 electrocoated with a phosphor face 9 is immersed in a cleaning tank 22 upside down with its peripheral side section 2b clamped by a supporter 21. The cleaning tank 22 is filled with a cleaning liquid 23 made of isopropyl alcohol, etc. A flow of the clean liquid is sprayed to the surface of the panel section 2 to be cleaned through a nozzle 24, and the phosphor deposited on the invalid screen section is removed from the panel section 2. When the cleaned panel section 2 is recovered from the cleaning liquid with the cleaned surface put downward, the cleaning liquid drops onto the liquid surface without flowing along the cleaned surface of the panel section 2. Accordingly, the phosphor contained in this cleaning liquid is prevented from sticking again to the other portion of the panel section 2. |
