PURPOSE:To attain the double color reading in a simple constitution of a photoelectric transducer which scans and reads in lines an image formed by an optical system, by forming a stripe color filter to a transparent plate holding an original. CONSTITUTION:An output signal A of a photoelectric conversion element 18 is converted into a binary coded signal B by A/D conversion via a binary coding circuit 22. At the same time, a control clock signal phi is applied to a T-type FF34 like the transducer 18. Then a signal C showing the color correspondence of each picture element is delivered from an FF34. The signal B is turned into a signal D shifted by a bit by a D-type FF24. This signal D is applied to the input terminal of either one of AND gates 26 and 28; while the signal B is applied to the input terminal of the other AND gate. The outputs of both gates 26 and 28 are supplied to latch circuits 30 and 32. Here the phase relation is set so that a transparent part undergo the photoelectric conversion when the signal C of the FF34 is set at ''1'' with the cyan color part of a stripe filter set at ''0'', respectively. Thus black and red signals FB and FR are obtained from circuits 30 and 32, respectively.
