PURPOSE:To simplify overall circuit constitution, to cut its price and to improve quality of a reproduced picture by time-base-compressing a line sequential color difference signal, by phase-inverting the signal by 2H and by multiplying and recording the luminance signal not to be time-base-compressed. CONSTITUTION:A color video signal of a NTSC system, entering an input terminal 1, is supplied for a low-pass filter 2 and a band filter 3. A luminance signal and a chrominance signal are separated and filtered. After the chrominance signal from the band filter 3 is demodulated by a decoder 4, said signal is supplied as a time division multiplex signal for a 1/5 time base compressing circuit 11 through switch circuits 5 and 9. Taking consideration of minimizing quality deterioration of a reproduced picture in case of the color video signal having little line correlation, said circuit 11 compresses a time base of signals to one/fifth in a sum section of a back porch period and an effective horizontal scanning period of the time division multiplex signal, and the compressed signal is outputted so that it will be transfered within a horizontal blanking period of the luminance signal. |
