In the apparatus for feeding textile material, for example fibre material, flakes of cotton and the like, to a willow, card or the like, in which material weighed by a balance is conveyed along a surface by way of a drawing-in device to drawing-in rollers of the willow or the like, a slide (15) movable along the surface is arranged. The movement of the slide (15) is controlled in time with the release of the material by the balance (2), in such a way that the slide (15) executes the forward movement or waits at the end of the forward movement until the weighing process for the following portion is completed on the balance (2). The slide (15) thereupon resumes the initial position, preferably in rapid motion. The slide ensures that the bulky and bunched pile of material can no longer fall back during transport. <IMAGE>
