Fish-plate strengthened electrified rail joint

The device increases the moment of resistance on a rail joint esp. an insulating joint, in electrified track -strengthened with a fishplate. A joint bridge (7) is located underneath the rail foot (9). It is provided with a coating of electrically insulating material (10). The joint bridge may be form-locked in the adjacent ribbed slabs (4) or rail foot mountings or it can be integral with the adjacent ribbed slabs.
