PURPOSE:To provide a compact and thin brake device by supporting rotatably an arm on a support axially of a rotor and pressing the pivot portion of the arm in one direction with an elastic means and in the other direction with an electromagnetic means. CONSTITUTION:An arm 77' is supported pivotably and axially of rotos 19, 20 on a support 1 supporting rotatably the rotors 19, 20, and the rotary end of the arm 77' is elastically urged to surfaces 25, 25' approximately perpendicular to a rotary shaft in rotors 19, 20 by elastic means 98, 98' and attracted by an electromagnetic means in the opposite direction to the direction of said elastic means. Thus, the arm 77' for braking the rotors 19, 20 is pivoted axially of the rotors 19, 20 and the operative stroke of the end of the arm 77' can be shortened so that a compact and thin device can be provided. |
