PURPOSE:To obtain the titled product having a high fiber content with good productivity, by placing an uncured fiber-reinforced plastic material in a mold, pressing the material axially by punches to be molded into an item in the shape of a bottomed container, and curing it. CONSTITUTION:For instance, an uncured fiber-reinforced plastic material having a hollow continuous section that has been produced from long fiber and/or short fiber such as a cylindrical stock 2 comprising an inner layer of short fiber 2a and an outer layer of long fiber 2b is placed between a top force 3 and a bottom force 4, and the forces 3, 4 are closed. The material is pressed axially by an upper punch 5 and a lower punch 6 to be molded into an item in the shape of a bottomed container, and then with the mold temperature controlled the molded item is retained in the molds to complete the curing reaction of the plastic thereby producing the intended item. |
