<p>The heat treating furnace has a walled enclosure in which are positioned heating elements. An inlet admits a continuous flow of processing gas into the chamber, an outlet exhausting a continuous flow of gas from the chamber. The gas undergoes a back and forth pulsating motion within the chamber. A compartment communicates with the chamber, a plunger being mounted to reciprocate within the compartment to effect the gas pulsing. There may be an additional compartment and plunger assembly mounted on the opposite side of the chamber from the first assembly. The plunger are pref. reciprocated in unison and in the same direction.</p> |
