METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PAINTING

PURPOSE:To prevent excessive supply of a paint and to enable sharp striped painting with an inexpensive roll by disposing a regulating roll in proximity to a feed roll which supplies the paint to an engraving roll. CONSTITUTION:A feed roll 6 is so disposed as a pcik-up roll that the bottom part is dipped in the paint 5 in a painting pan 10 and an engraving roll 2 is disposed in such a way that a projecting line 1 contacts with said roll 6. A belt- like base material 4 such as a belt-like steel plate is inserted between the roll 2 and a backing roll 5. A regulating roll 7 is disposed in proximity to the roll 6 and the roll 2 in upper part on the side oppposite from said rolls, by which the thickness of the paint picked up on the outside circumference of the roll 6 is regulated between said roll and the roll 7 and the excess paint is returned into the pan 10. The paint 5 is thus supplied in the adequate thickness condition to the projecting line 1 of the roll 2.
