The invention relates to a double safety device for a fume extractor of the type comprising a fuse wire connected to a general electrical supply contactor of the extractor and keeping a safety flap in position. The extractor possesses a removable lower cover. In accordance with the invention, the fuse wire 8 is supported and held by retractable supporting points A and D by which the wire is supported and held until the extractor is opened.
