The system has a rigid clamp (12) that is articulated in a spare wheel housing (10) around an axis perpendicular to the axis of a wheel (11) by an articulation (25) for forcing the wheel against the bottom of the housing. The articulation includes a hook with a groove in which an end of a rod of the clamp is arranged. The articulation is adjustable in height with respect to the edge of the housing.
