<p>PURPOSE:To recover sulfur and to reduce the cost of the desulfurization by reducing sulfate and sulfite, which are formed by blowing an alkaline absorbing liquid into a waste gas, in a reducing apparatus which is packed with a carbonaceous material and lime-stone, and screening the solid matter from the reducing apparatus to be reused. CONSTITUTION:A waste gas 1 is introduced into a spray drier 3 into which an absorbing liquid of slaked lime is blown from an absorbent tank 4. A part of sulfate and sulfite, which are recovered in the spray drier 3, is sent to a reducing vessel 12 through a line 11. Coal 13 and lime-stone 14 are packed in the reducing vessel 12, and the waste gas, mixed with steam 15 and air 16, is blown therein. The sulfur, formed by the reduction with the coal, is recovered in a sulfur recovering apparatus 17. The lime-stone in the reducing vessel 12 is pyrolized into quick lime, which is taken out together with the coal and sent to a screen 19. The oversize is reused as a packing material in the reducing vessel 12, and the undersize is introduced into the absorbent tank 4, added with water 10, and used as an absorbent.</p> |
