<p>PURPOSE:To provide a solid heat-generating composition which has a high calorific value, is easy to handle and has a constant surface temperature, prepared by mixing a binder into a heat-generating composition in powder and forming the mixture into shape by compression molding. CONSTITUTION:A binder (e.g. alumina sol) is mixed in an amount of 0.5-3wt% into a heat-generating composition in powder consisting of metal powder and a blend of metal oxide or metal sulfate, water and a humectant. The mixture is formed into shape by compression molding under a pressure of 800-3,000kg/ cm<2> and the formed product is packed tightly with air-permeable paper, woven fabric or non-woven fabric or with air-impermeable plastic film, etc. EFFECT:The temperature and time of heat generation can be controlled exactly to desired levels. USE:Moxibustion for medical treatment, hot compress pack, body warmer, etc.</p> |
