<p>The process consists of (a) grinding various types of organic compsns. or residues, (b) subjecting them to the action of strong alkali (KOH) in amount of 3-30% at around 300 deg. C, varying the parameters according to the nature of the organic substrate and the final product, the reaction being carried out in the solid state and an atmosphere free from CO2; and (c) enriching the product from (b) with nitrogen by treatment with HNO3 and with phosphorous by treatment with H3PO4, or mixts. of these.
