PURPOSE:To improve performance of a plate while improving affinity of the plate to water by impregnating the positive plate using fluoric resin as a binder with an interface activtor of the fluoric system. CONSTITUTION:An active substance supporter, for instance, a sponge nickel porous body having the three-dimensional continuous structure is applied with active substance powder mainly composed of nickel hydroxide and dried after being impregnated with dispersion liquid of fluoric resin while being impregnated with an interface activator of the fluoric system. For example, mixed powder composed of 85 parts of nickel hydroxide powder, 10 parts of nickel powder and 5 parts of cobalt powder is formed in paste with a carboxymethylcellulose water solution. Next, said paste is filled into a sponge nickel porous body having the three-dimensional continuous structure of 0.3mm. in the average diameter, 96% in porosity and 1.2mm. in thickness before being dried, while being pressed with the pressure of 500kg/cm<2> after being dipped into the fluoric resin dispersion liquid and dried again. The positive plate is obtained after further being dipped into the water solution of the interface activator of the fluoric system, and dried. |
