PURPOSE:To scatter the worn areas of a magnetic disk and to prolong the lifetime of the disk for a mgnetic disk memory of a contact start/stop (CSS) system, by separating the contact regions of a magnetic disk from each other at the start and stop of the revolution of the disk. CONSTITUTION:A control servo circuit for positioning of a magnetic head is provided with a position detector 5, current detector 6, speed detector 8, target speed generator 12, error amplifier 9, speed error amplifier 13, changeover switch 10, power amplifier 4, linear motor 3 and a magnetic head carriage 2. Both the speed and position of the carriage 2 are controlled by the shift control signal generated from a control logical circuit 11. When a magnetic disk 1 is stopped, a bias signal is supplied to the above-mentioned control servo circuit from a voltage generating circuit 7 via the amplifier 4 so that the carriage 2 is biased toward the outer circumference of the disk 1. |
