PURPOSE:To enable the measurement of low uranium concentration while eliminating reference sample by measuring the intensity of gamma rays released from an uranium-containing solution to be measured and the intensity of transmitting gamma ray from an external gamma ray source to calculate a correction factor. CONSTITUTION:The intensity of gamma rays peculiar to <235>U released from an uranium-containing solution 2 to be measured is measured with a gamma ray spectrometry 3. On the other hand, gamma rays generated from an external gamma ray source 4 irradiates the solution 2 and the intensity of transmitting gamma ray with a specific energy is measured with a gamma ray spectrometry 3 to calculate the uranium concentration of the solution 2 from the measured value. A correction factor is calculated for diminishment and a geometric effect with respect to gamma ray peculiar to <235>U due to the solution 2 and gamma ray transmission material other than the solution from the uranium concentration obtained. Then, the <235>U concentration is calculated using the measured intensity of gamma ray peculiar to <235>U and the correction factor to determine the <235>U enrichment level from the uranium concentration obtained and <235>U concentration. |
