PURPOSE:To attain equal access between equipments by providing a carrier level comparator, a counter counting number of times of reception and two kinds of timers to a link control section in a communication equipment applying packet communication correspondence in the carrier of the same frequency so as to preclude the possibility of contention. CONSTITUTION:Communication equipments 2 are of the same constitution. A carrier detection counter 11 of the link control section 3 counts number of times of reception by a reception carrier sense after the transmission request from a terminal device 1. After the transmission request, the carrier sense timer 13 starts counting and its timer time is a variable value depending on a load value from a ROM 12. A final transmission timer 14 starts counting just after the packet transmission and has a prescribed timer time. A carrier level comparator 16 receives an intermediate frequency signal from a receiver 6, compares it with a reference level to generate a detection signal representing the presence or absence of the reception carrier. A data buffer and buffer controller 17 transmits/receives a data to/from the terminal device 1. The variable timer time of the timer 13 is set depending on before or after the timeup of the timer 14 and on the count of the counter 11 so as to avoid contention between communication equipments and to attain impartial access.
