1,032,637. Discharge from a container. CARMICHAEL & SONS (WORCESTER) Ltd. Feb. 17, 1965 [Nov. 27, 1963], No. 46815/63. Heading B8S. Material in a bulk container is discharged along the inclined bottom thereof by the successive stepwise inflation of textile hoses 12 which are secured to the bottom of the container. Each hose 12 is secured at its ends to the container 10, its ends being closed and the midpoint of the hose being connected at 15 by a pipe 151 to a rotary valve 16a (Fig. 3) (not shown), which controls the inlet of compressed air, and by pipe 152 which is connected to a similar rotary valve 16b which exhausts the air from the hose. The valves 15a and 16a rotate to cause a successive inflation and deflation of the hoses 12 so that the nylon sheet 14 which is positioned over the hoses moves like a wave transversely to discharge the material to a discharge point on the right. Cover 14 may be made porous so that air escaping from the hoses 12 may aerate the material in the container 10. |
