The tool carrier has mountings for holders of tools. The holders are fastened to the mountings by hydraulically operable clamping devices which are accommodated in the mountings and clamp the holders against the mountings. The clamping devices can be operated automatically so that the holders can be changed automatically by a gripper system or the like. The tool carrier can be used especially advantageously in automatic production.
