A method of making a three-ply laminate comprises (1) casting a solution of a polymer, in an organic solvent, on to a casting sheet having a non-absorbent surface, a smooth finish and a degree of adhesion such that the polymeric film formed may be stripped from said casting sheet; (2) drying the polymeric film; (3) casting a solution of a pressure-sensitive adhesive, in an organic solvent, on to a silicone coated protective release sheet; (4) drying the pressure-sensitive adhesive film; (5) adhering the dry polymeric film to the pressure sensitive adhesive film and (6) removing the casting sheet. Specified polymeric films are polymers and copolymers of C 1 to C 4 alkyl acrylates; polymers and copolymers of vinyl chloride and cellulose ethers and esters. Specified pressure sensitive adhesives are natural rubber, synthetic rubber, oopolymers of a C 4 to C 12 alkyl acrylate and polymers of alkyl vinyl ethers. Specified casting sheets are of polyethylene terephthalate.</p> |
