Antiinflammatory compounds of the following formula are disclosed: <CHEM> wherein R is lower alkyl; R<1> is selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl, benzyl, and N,N-dimethylaminoethyl; or R and R<1> are fused to form an optionally-substituted five- or six-membered heterocyclic ring; and X is hydrogen, methyl or halogen; and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof. Pharmaceutical compositions containing the antiinflammatory compounds and methos of using the antiinflammatory compounds are also described as are synthetic processes and synthetic intermediates for preparing the antiinflammatory compounds.
