PURPOSE:To converge tap coefficients of an equalizer to optimum values by controlling a correction of a tap coefficient which is a two-sample or four-sample period later when initial distortion which is a one-sample or two-sample period later is greater than 50% of a peak value. CONSTITUTION:If inputs to integrators 11-1 and 11-2 are both -1 a two-sample period later when distortion a one-sample period later is greater than 50% of the peak value, a logical gate 14-1 detects that and a switch 15-1 is opened to stops the input to the integrator 11-1, so that a tap coefficient C1 is not corrected. If the input to the integrator 11-2 is -1 and the product of the polarity of distortion which is a two-sample period later and the polarity of the peak value is -1 when the distortion is greater than 50%, a logical gate 14-2 detects that to open a switch 15-2, and the input to the integrator 11-2 is cut off, so that a tap coefficient C2 is not corrected. |
