PURPOSE:To prepare the titled compound useful as a raw material of a fluorine- containing polymer, surface active agent, etc., in high yield, by treating alpha,omega- diiodo-perfluoroalkane with an oxidizing agent in the presence of a catalyst selected from P, Mo and Sn. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound of formula FOCR'fCOF (R'f is 2-12C perfluoroalkylene) can be prepared by reacting the compound of formula IRfI (Rf is 4-14C perfluoroalkylene) with an oxidizing agent in the presence of a catalyst selected from elemental P, Mo and Sn and their compounds (e.g. chloride, oxide, sulfate, etc.) at 30-120 deg.C, preferably 40-90 deg.C. The catalyst is effective even at a small amount, i.e. about 0.01-0.15mol per 1mol of the raw material. EFFECT:The reaction proceeds rapidly at a relatively low temperature, and the problem of apparatus corrosion can be mitigated. |
